Why Patients need to Connect to the In Hand Dental App

There’s no question that practitioners and patients love using the In Hand Dental app to track everything from treatment protocols for aligners or braces to collecting and sharing sleep apnea data.

But really, the In Hand Dental app is also an awesome tool for staying connected to those patients you see only twice a year for checkups and cleanings. When you think about it, those are the patients who need a bit more “handholding” to ensure they don’t leave you for another practice. Loyalty is a valuable commodity in this industry, and it’s up to you and your staff to establish and keep strong ties with your patients in every way possible.

With the In Hand Dental app, you can easily stay in touch with patients regularly. For example, sending out quick tips every two weeks or so is an excellent way to let your patients know you’re thinking of them. For example, a short note about how to floss more effectively, or news about a new electric toothbrush that might be of interest. Treat app communications like texts – keep them short and sweet.

Also keep in mind that the app is useful for sending out personalized messages, such as wishing a patient Happy Birthday, Happy Graduation, and so on. Patients typically aren’t used to receiving this type of personal attention when they’re not in an exam chair, and it can go a long way toward strengthening your relationship with them.

Be sure to also encourage all patients to ask questions or relay concerns they might have about their teeth between cleanings – and show them just how responsive your office can be with answers.  An easy way to monitor incoming questions is to assign staff a certain day or day part when they are responsible for checking the app portal for patient questions for quicker replies.
